Press Releases

The SA Embassy in Lisbon will close from Monday, 23 March in line with the Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa on 19 March 2020 announcing measures to implement the 15 days state of emergency in Portugal, instituted at midnight on 20 March and to last until 4 April 2020. Portugal has called for maximum restraint, including to work from home for all non-essential services to contain the spread of the virus.

The Mission will thus close from 23 March to re-open on 06 April 2020, with that date depending on any further notices or possible extension.  Mission staff will be working from home and consular services will be handled on an emergency basis as required.
